Annika and Nico: A Modern Love Story at the Rubell Museum

Annika and Nico’s day was effortlessly modern, joyfully warm, and completely unforgettable. From the very beginning, their love story felt like fate. They met on Hinge, and Annika likes to say she got really lucky since Nico was her very first date in Miami. After that first night out, they were inseparable. Years later, he proposed during a dreamy trip to Mykonos, Greece with rose petals, a lit-up “Marry Me” sign, and a photographer waiting at their villa. It was romantic, over the top (in the best way), and just so Nico.

A Venue That Reflected Who They Are

When it came time to plan their wedding, Annika and Nico focused on one thing above all else: their guests. “We wanted the day to feel seamless, great food, great music, no interruptions to the party, and a chance for everyone to experience the space. That’s why the Rubell Museum felt so right for us.” And truly, it was the perfect choice. From the moment guests walked into the venue, they were surrounded by striking modern art, a reflection of Annika and Nico’s love for creativity, culture, and doing things a little differently.

Getting Ready, the Dress, and a Timeless Bridal Look

For Annika, the day began at JW Marriott Turnberry in Aventura, where she got ready with her loved ones before slipping into her lace Monique Lhuillier gown, a stunning piece she found at Chic Parisien in Coral Gables. The look was timeless with a couture twist, and paired perfectly with the setting and her graceful presence.

A Ceremony Rooted in Tradition, Culture, and Meaning

The ceremony itself was held among the gallery walls and infused with meaning from beginning to end. “It was really important to us to have a traditional Jewish ceremony,” Annika shared. “We also made it bilingual, in both English and Spanish, so all of our guests could feel included and connected.” Small but thoughtful touches like Latin-inspired food, espresso with dessert, and ceviche on the menu made the evening feel like a true celebration of their roots.

The First Look, the Vows, and the Moments That Last Forever

One of the most memorable parts of the day? The first look. “We didn’t sleep in the same room the night before, so it felt like a real reunion,” she said. “We each wrote private vows and got to share them just the two of us. It was such an emotional, beautiful moment. And Jess, you captured it so perfectly, it’s something we’ll always treasure.”
When they saw the full gallery, their reaction was everything. “We were so excited and happy. It brought us right back to those moments. Now we get to relive it forever.”
Their advice for future couples? “Trust yourself and do what feels authentic to you. Don’t let too many outside voices influence what you really want. When your wedding reflects who you are, your guests will feel it too, and that’s what makes the experience magical.”
